The cyclists are a menace - they absolutely despise tourists. They *do not* follow the rules of the road - they will ride the wrong way in a 1-way street, run you over if you use a crosswalk (with you having the right of way), ride on the sidewalk and cut you off while doing so - all the time cussing you out for being in their way. And there are very, very many of them. It may seem like I am exaggerating but I am not. I'm still hearing bicycle bells in my sleep.
